May 21st 2006: Roger Goodall Memorial Steam-up

Almost forty family, friends and neighbours turned out for the 'Roger Goodall Memorial Steam-up' event. In spite of the non-stop rain we had continuous running on both Roger's Garden Railway and 'Papplewick Green'. Fortunately we were able to erect canopies over both railways giving the intrepid Engine Drivers an element of protection from the appalling weather. The sale of some more of Rogers goodies, and the donations for refreshments, provided more welcome funds for the Iain Rennie Nurses, the amount was over £560. Everyone who attended agreed it had been a great day, Roger would have been proud of us. Thanks go to Chris Petty for arranging the event, and for supplying the photos.
